Privacy Policy

Article 1: Purpose of personal information processing

The ‘World Green Growth Forum 2026 (WGGF 2026) Secretariat’ collects and processes the minimum amount of personal information and the personal information it processes will not be used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of use is changed, the ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  1. Registration and management of website users
    • Collection of user registration information, user management, prevention of fraudulent use of services, notices and communications, record-keeping for dispute resolution.
  2. Confirmation of Service Provision
    • Provision of services for participation in various programs
    • Identification for confirmation and modification of registration details.

Article 2: Personal information processing and retention period

The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ processes and retains personal information within the retention and usage period as stipulated by law or as agreed upon when collecting personal information. The processing and retention periods of personal information are as follows:
  1. Website user registration and management
    • Until the user withdraws from the website.
  2. Provision of various services
    • Until the service provision is completed.
  3. Outsourcing of tasks
    • Outsourcing Partner: With Baton Co., Ltd.
    • Outsourced Task: Event management and website operation for the World Green Growth Forum 2026

Article 3: Outsourcing personal information processing

  1. The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ outsources personal information processing tasks as follows to ensure smooth processing of personal information.
  2. When entering into outsourcing contracts, the ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ specifies in the contract document matters such as the prohibition of personal information processing outside the scope of the outsourced tasks, technical and administrative protective measures, restrictions on subcontracting, management and supervision of the outsourcing party, and responsibility for damages, in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act. The Secretariat supervises the secure processing of personal information by the outsourcing party.
  3. If the content of the outsourced task or the outsourcing party changes, this will be disclosed through the personal information processing policy without delay.

Article 4: Rights and duties of individuals and their options for legal recourse, and how to exercise them

  1. The information subject can exercise rights such as requesting access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of their personal information at any time.
  2. The exercise of rights under Paragraph (1) can be done by submitting a request in writing or by email, and the ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ will take immediate action.
  3. Rights can also be exercised through a legal representative or an authorized agent. In this case, a letter of authorization as specified in Form 11 of the "Personal Information Processing Methods Notice (No. 2020-7)" must be submitted.
  4. The right to access and request suspension of processing can be restricted in accordance with Articles 35(4) and 37(2) of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  5. Requests for correction and deletion cannot be made if the personal information is specified as a collection target in other laws.
  6. The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ will confirm the identity of the individual making the request for access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing.

Article 5: Personal information contents processed

The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ processes the following personal information:
  1. Website user registration and management
    • Required: Full name (in Korean/English), contact details, email address, affiliation, nationality
    • Optional: Department, position, age, gender, etc.
  2. Automatically collected personal information during internet service use
    • IP address, cookies, MAC address, service usage records, visit records, etc.

Article 6: Destruction of personal information

  1. The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ will immediately destroy personal information when the retention period has expired, or when the purpose of processing is achieved, or when the personal information is no longer necessary.
  2. If the retention period agreed upon by the information subject or other laws require continued preservation of personal information, it will be moved to a separate database (DB) or stored elsewhere.
  3. The procedure and method for the destruction of personal information are as follows:
    1. Destruction Procedure
      The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ selects personal information that needs to be destroyed and obtains approval from the responsible officer to destroy the information.
    2. Destruction Method
      Personal information stored in electronic files will be destroyed so that the record cannot be reconstructed. Paper records will be shredded or incinerated.

Article 7: Safeguards to ensure the safety of personal information

The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:
  1. Administrative measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans, and minimization and education of personal information handlers
  2. Technical measures: Access control of personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, encryption of sensitive data, installation of security programs.
  3. Physical measures: Control of unauthorized persons’ access to the computer room, data archive, etc.

Article 8: Installation and operation of an automatic personal information collection system and the denial thereof

The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ does NOT use cookies or any other automatic data collection tools to provide customized services to users.

Article 9: Personal information protection officer

  1. The ‘WGGF 2026 Secretariat’ has designated the following personal information protection officer to manage the processing of personal information and handle complaints and damage redress related to personal information processing:

  2. Information subjects can contact the personal information protection officer regarding any inquiries, complaints, or issues related to personal information protection. The officer will respond promptly.

Article 10: Remedies for infringements of rights

Information subjects can apply for dispute resolution or counseling at the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee or the Korea Internet & Security Agency’s Personal Information Infringement Report Center.

Under the Personal Information Protection Act, if rights are infringed due to administrative actions or omissions by public authorities, administrative litigation can be filed according to the Administrative Litigation Act.

Article 11: Changes to the privacy policy

This privacy policy will be applied from March 31, 2026

Consent to the Taking of Photos and Videos during the Forum

During the forum, photos and videos will be taken on-site to document the event. These images and videos may be posted on the forum's official website or official social media channels for promotional purposes.
They will not be used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties for reasons other than promotion.
